Does anyone here have a peugot 206?

And if so, what car seat do you have?? I bought a car seat from Mothercare on Thurs, as it was in a flash sale, so was £40 instead of £80. I went to collect it yesterday, and to get it fitted. And..... it didn't fit. Luckily, they've refunded me, so I'm not out of pocket there.
But, the other car seat she tried, also didn't fit. Apparently the only car seat that will (hopefully!) fit is the Britax 1-2-3. The problem is the seat belt buckle. Apparently they are very high, so instead of sitting flush with the seat, they come up out of the seat, so the belt can't pull tight enough.
Now I'm faced with the fact that I may not find a car seat to fit in my car! My OH is a tight wad, and he thought £40 was a good price for a seat. Now I've had to tell him that we're looking at over £100, his response was "we'll look on gumtree for a second hand one" I've put my foot down and said I'm not prepared to have LO in a second hand car seat, but at the same time, we can't really afford £100+ on a car seat right now!

Oh bless you, my mum was like this in her tiny fiesta. Ill ask her what car seat she had, I'm sure it was a graco travel system one. X

Thanks lovely We had a slight problem with our first car seat, but we managed to solve it by getting a surefix base. It's annoying, because my back seat is pretty big, but the seat belts are useless! The lady in Mothercare said the most dangerous bit would be, because the buckle came so far up the car seat, if we were to be in a crash, there is a chance the seat could unclip the buckle, so obviously LO wouldn't be safe.
My old car was amazing, and the seats would have fit no problem, but I had to sell it to afford to move house :

i cant offer advice on what seat will fit but my friends just got a seat from online paying monthly instalments with no interest for 12 months.. ide look into that if you cant afford £100+ straight out.. xx

The Britax First Class. I got mine from Babies R Us and it was under £100 at the time however I think the price has gone up again.

I didn't like the look of alot of the cheaper ones, they seemed flimsy and unsecure, so I made sure we had a decent one because if anything happened and the carseat was a pile of crap I would never have forgiven myself or my OH.
