Last night I posted that I wasn't sure if my water was leaking or not, I had been cramping all day yesterday and was starting to become slightly uncomfortable, nothing regular though. I went to the bathroom and when I leaned over to wipe more fluid gushed out, I thought it was more urine so wiped again, happened again. I tried to dry my vagina really well and it wouldn't dry, so I grabbed a towel thinking that maybe I just can't get it dry enough with toilet paper and finally got it dry, I checked it a few minutes later and it was slightly wet again. Every time I sat down I felt this need to push out more fluid to relieve the pressure that was being put on my bladder/cervix area. Every time I would push so much fluid would come out, it was very clear, had absolutely no smell, and was very thin, I even pushed the fluid onto toilet paper and I could only smell the toilet paper. I wasn't sure if my water was leaking or if I just could not empty my bladder, but if that's the case then my bladder kept filling up after 5 minutes for about an hour. I sat down for a while to see if when I stood up it gushed out, but when I stood up I felt this huge amount of pressure and the feeling that I needed to pee really bad, instead of going to the bathroom I swayed my hips and let it come out on its own, I couldn't stop it, but I had a very bulky pad on so when I checked it I couldn't really feel anything because it was already absorbed, and I know there was something on it because I felt it come out. The fluid was also very very warm, a lot warmer than what it normally feels like when I use the bathroom. By the end of the night I was cramping more and it was making my sides and back sore. I am fine now, just a few cramps here and there, and I'm going to call the nurse at 9 when they open, but I was wanting to see if anybody knew if what I experienced was a hind water leak as I can't really find anything on it. I'm an elective c section and from what I have been able to find is that hind water leaks seal themselves back up and you don't have to be induced right away, but I know it depends on the dr and also will depend on the situation, I just don't know how much I need to worry, but I know that I don't want an infection either. Thanks ladies!

It depends - my hind waters slightly tore but I was induced due to group B strep (planned vaginal delivery though, I'm not sure if the rules change for a C-section).

I suspect you might be booked in for your surgery a wee bit early, as you are 38 weeks. Good luck with your call! There is no need to worry yet, generally it's not until after 24 hours that they start to have any concern so your morning call will be okay. You can of course, always call labour ward 24/7 with concerns.

Ive not a clue but didnt want to read and run!! Good luck though i hope you get some answers and everything is ok :hugs: xx

My hind waters broke on the morning I was due to be induced, it was a small amount (the amount of a small wee) but I knew it was definitely my waters. I went in as planned as they broke my forewaters later that afternoon as I was overdue anyway.

Good luck.

my hind waters broke with my oldest son . it was just a trickle compared to the gushes i got with this little man . and with my oldest i also had period pain with him. i had him 6 hours later . good luck :flower:

i'm pretty sure looking back with my 1st my hind waters broke, but i didn't realize until a good few hrs later that it was them ;) and then they ended up keeping me in and later on breaking my fore waters x

Thanks ladies! I'm pretty sure that's what happened. I'm waiting for the nurse to call me back so I can ask her what she wants me to do. My c-section isn't booked for another 8 days. I haven't had any more leaking, I just hate knowing that I might have to make a 3rd trip to the hospital this week and probably nothing is wrong, and it's a 45 minute drive each way due to construction and I already am booked to go in on Friday for another NST.

ShI finally got a hold of the nurse and of course they are making me come in and she was upset that I didn't go last night. I just wish she could have told me if it sounded like a leak or urine. I also noticed that my panties were damp today when I changed, but who knows!

I hate a hind water leak at 30 weeks with my son which was a gushand then later another gush but nothing else. I had a scan and my fluid levels were low so they confirmed that it was waters. On a follow up scan a week later my fluid levels had replenished and they said they thought it was a hind water leak.

I hope they get back to you soon x

Aw well good luck going in. They really can't tell over the phone, despite some misinformation (the smell is distinct/it's obvious), there are times where it really isn't obvious without a strip test. So they need to see you.

If it was my water would that make my stomach softer? My husband and I both looked at my stomach and said did my stomach shrink and I felt it and it was so soft and mushy. It felt so weird.

with me i don't think my belly felt any diff? lol x

i dont think your bump would feel different unless it was your proper waters xx

I got checked and they did an ultrasound and it wasn't my water. He has no clue what was going on, even the nurse said it looked wet down there when they tested. I'm not dilated or efaced but I was having some mild contractions.
