Does anyone know how long it will take for IS to go through?

Hey ladies!
my ex and i split up in december and i applied for income support on the 12th of december.
I received a letter last week stating i needed to send proof of I.D.
The only time i could send some in was yesterday, i took my driving license in and they photocopied it and i signed and dated it.

Im just wondering now ive sent off my proof of I.d when dya think i should start recieving the benefit?
only living on child benefit and tax at the mo, but council are breathing down my necks coz HB cant go through till IS does.

would really help too if anyone knows on average how much i should get?
i have two kids one age 4 one age 2 and we have no other income or anything

Mine took 2 weeks form the day i started the claim.

Housing benefit took a month.

If you have nothing till the claim is sorted then apply for a crisis loan, also tell Adam to pay maintenence.

As a lone parent you will get £67.50 a week

If you are proper piss poor, then apply for a crisis loan, they will give you a decision that day and the payment too.
