Does anyone know what a pessary is?

not sure if this is spelt correctly but i think its something to help with going into labour but what is the proceedure?

A Pessary(?) is a soft 'tablet' inserted into the vagina (painless). Not sure about the details for inducing labour, but I imagine if one is used in this way, it must help to 'ripen' the cervix so that labour can be triggered.

A pessary is a tablet inserted into the vagina, different types do differnt things, one use is to get rid of thrush, and just recently hospitals have been using another sort instead of the gel that they use to insert to induce labour.
