I'm a bit of a worrier about Joseph being too hot at night. Last night temp dropped to 17 degres. He had on vest, sleepsiut and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. He felt a bit cold this morning when he woke up. I'm wondering if he need something over the sleeping bag. I read somewhere you shouldn't put anything over them but was just wondering does anyone do this?

I do our house is a cold house so i use a blanket and sleeping bag. It was 16° last night according to monitor but felt colder x

Our house was freezing last night, and LO had a vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag. Her hands were cold when she woke up, but the rest felt warm. I must remember to put scratch mitts on her tonight!

I don't as the reason we us the bag is because Ethan kicks the blankets over his head. Last night we put him in a vest and fleecy pjs then the 2.5 tog bag. I think he might have been a little cold as he did wake a little earlier but not during the night.

Daniel had a rubbish nights sleep last night and I think it's because the temp dropped so I am going to put a blanket over his bag tonight

I do when it is really cold, but I use a cellular blanket to be on the safe side.

I wouldn't be happy about putting a blanket over the sleeping bag, as I notice that Eva doesn't roll about as much in the sleeping bag as she does when it's just a blanket, so I would be worried about the blanket working it's way up over her head and her not rolling out from under it. Just my opinion though.

I do, out house is always freezing so I just put a little knitted/crotcheted blanket over the top of him. He usually end up kicking it off, but I like to think it helps XD

XxX

i do as ds always kicks blankets down. he's never ever ended up with them near his face and they're only light fleecey things anyway. where i live is crazy, 30 degrees during the day but sooo cold at night and our house has no insulation or heating. fortunately he's a hot little baby and doesn't seem to care!

Yes I do our house is single glazed and cold, bedroom went down to 16 last night, and Amelia woke twice very unlike her, her little hands were like ice so mittens for her tonight.

I was putting a blanket over her but managed to get a 3.5tog sleeping bag recently so now she wears the heavier sleeping bag & sleeps much better!

I do, vest, baby gro, 2.5 tog bag and a cellular blanket. The room is about 18 degrees early evening tho and must get colder in the night. When we start putting the heating on I might not use the blanket.

I think as long as it cellular even if they kick it over their head they can breathe xx

Thanks ladies I might try the cellular blanket. Can I ask also ask do you use a short sleeves vest or a long sleeved one under a sleep suit? Thanks

I haven't yet but I will do soon because the weather is getting colder now

Yep when LO was using a sleeping bag i also put a blanket over him and tucked it right in. (he's grown out of his bag now but i manage to use blankets to reach the same effect of one now anyways.)

I use long sleeved vests on colder days and with thinner baby gros and short sleeved if it's warmer of she's in a fleeced or warmer baby gro.

I try to think what I'd want to be wearing. I thinks mothers instinct and common sense are the best indicators do go with what you think and you'll be spot on xx

I would if it turns cold. I didn't last night but did a cardigan on my LO.

Yep, LO has a vest, grow and 2.5 tog sleep bag. When I go to bed I also put a small cellular blanket over the top of him.

When it gets really cold I will do the same but with a long sleeve vest :)
