I gave my son some Calpol as he was crying a lot and I thought he was in pain.He is now so hyper I dont know what to do?!

Does it have sugar in it? I meant to look the other day as I'd given Sam some before bed and he was awake for hours afterwards! Might be something in it that makes them a bit hyper x

Found this...not sure if it applies to the baby calpol or not though - I'm feeding Sam so can't get up to get the bottle!

- Calpol contains sucrose (sugar), glucose syrup, glycerol, sorbitol, methyl hydroxybenzoate, gelatine, Xanthan gum, carmoisine, pseudoephidrine hydrochloride, polyethylene glycol, propolene glyhcol, polyvinyl acetate phthalate, potassium hydroxide, titanium dioxide, ponceau 4R (E124).
- Carmoisine (E122) gives Calpol its strawberry flavour: it is known to cause hyperactivity, asthma, sleeplessness and skin irritation.

Oh my goodness!Am going to throw this bottle away and get the sugar free kind.No sleep for me tonight! They should warn people about this.

It always made my cousin's baby hyper, even the sugar free kind!! x

We have the sugar free one and it has no effect
