I might be wrong but i thought if baby was at all engaged then i'd feel his hiccups completely in the middle at the bottom of my tummy? He's head down so i do feel his hiccups quite low down but usually i always feel them slightly to the right or left. So does this mean he's not engaged at all and still just floating side to side?:nope:

I'm not sure of my LO's position.. I always feel the hiccups on my left or right side though.

I wouldn't base hiccups on LOs position. There are a lot of sites that try and gauge what babies position might be based on hiccups but I havent found them to be accurate, for me at least. Ive always felt my LOs hiccups low down near hips, and according to site he should be head down, but lo and behold he is sitting breech. So I wouldn't worry too much. Just ask your doctor next time you see them <3

Thanks girls:flower: I have an antenatal tomorrow so i'll be asking my midwife, hopefully he is starting to engage even though i feel his hiccups here, there and everywhere:haha: xxx

Lily was confirmed head down today by ultrasound and her hiccups are felt in the middle of my pelvis but slightly to the left. Remember their shoulders are down there too and thats prolly what you're feeling.

I think it's normal, some women don't feel them. They could still be happening but you just don't feel them

well i felt them with my other two it felt like jerking movements so i know what they feel like. i just wondered if its normal to feel them not much or not at all?

Yes its normal. In the pregnancy book that Ive been reading it says not all babies hiccup. So I wouldnt worry

Thanks good to know. this baby has been so different to my other two between the positions, hiccups and where most movements are felt lol even the bump x

Airyonna is head down and +1 so she is a whole lot of engaged and I still feel her hiccups on my right side where her bum is.

I feel her hiccups to the left more and my little one is definitely engaged. Dr. can feel her head when when she checks my cervix. I don't think that means they haven't engaged if you feel hiccups more to one side.

Well you were all right, i saw my midwife this morning and baby is 4/5ths engaged yaaaay:happydance:

My baby is fully engaged but I feel his hiccups more towards the one side. They told me it's normal to have the baby facing one side or another, just as long as his head is sitting low in the pelvic bones.
