As the tilte suggests, how much bigger will the baby get after it has gone overdue?
Anyones experience on this would be good - thanks.

Baby gains about half a pound a week, so i would say if you go to 42 weeks your looking at an extra pound of weight... :) xx

my baby will be quite big as everywhere i touch on my belly I can feel him, his bum and legs. MW said he'll be a long fella as well. It gives me creeps thinking how am i gonna deliver a 4kilo baby :D

Not necessarily, no.

My daughter was born at 40+9 weighing a modest 7lb 2oz.

they say the after 38 weeks they tend to gain an average of 1oz a day whether that is actully true is another thing.

I don't think so, I was 10 days late but only weighed 6 pounds 13. So not necessarily!!

I heard they lose weight if they go overdue as placenta isnt as effective. My friend was 7 days late n her boy was 7lb 9, my SIL was 12 days later n her boy was 6lb 13 so doesnt necessairly mean they do gain more weight, but then some do!

Gretaa ~ my boy was 4.430kgs lol

my dd was 9 days overdue and weighed 9lbs 4.5oz. this baby is measuring 9lbs 4oz at 38 weeks and 3 days! going by growth chart he'll be 11lbs if i go 10 days over. god help me. xo

I asked my consultant this yesterday and he said they gain minimal weight after 40 weeks so it wasn't somthing to be concerned about.

Thanks for all the replies ladies - I know it will be a case of wait and see!

Mines where both overdue, first was 10days over and weighed 6lb 13oz second 12 days overdue and was 8lb 13oz. So I wouldnt say overdue is big. X

No it won't keep getting bigger, after 40 weeks the placenta doesn't work as efficiently, hence them not wanting women to go over 42 weeks. Babies tend to actually weigh less at 41 weeks then at 40 weeks. So don't worry about your baby getting too big if you go overdue.
