Does miscarriage affect fertility

I keep asking myself this. I mc last week and would like to try again asap. Does having a mc affect your fertility at all?

Hi no it doesn't. You are no less fertile after MC than you were before. I MC my first pregnancy in May and I just got my this last week. So i am living proof that it has no effect as it took one month like it did last time, so try not to worry yourself.
One thing to bear in mind is that your first cycle may be longer, mine was 6 weeks for first AF, but after that my cycle was bang on again. 14 days to OV.

No it doesn't. Your body may take a while to settle into a pattern again but lots of women do find they conceive the first month after a m/c. I have 3 friends who have so I know it's right! Good luck xxx

You're right. The doctor told me that you are more fertile after a miscarriage. Btw, my mom ended up pregnant with me immediately after a miscarriage. She didn't wait for her period. My husband's mom waited a couple of cycles after her miscarriage, before becoming pregnant with him. As long as you're healthy, do whatever feels right.

Ive wondered this also , after my first m/c back in 94 it took me about 4 months to get pregnant , and now I had an early m/c at 6 weeks in april , and have been ttc since and still not pregnant , we were not even trying to get pregnant last time and it happened , I just dont understand .

No, it doesn't (unless was ectopic). I've also been told you're more fertile after a mc BUT you should wait the time the Dr advised (I was told 3 months after a D&C and until after my first normal cycle after early natural) or your body may not be ready and the next one is more likely to mc too. hi,ive been told it doesnt, i had a mc in mar08 and this was my first pregnancy,we werent trying and we'd been 2geva 8mths,ive always thought i couldnt have kids,i had test when i was 20,everything was fine,ive been in 2 3yr relationships n never fell pregnant,then when i got with who im with now,like i said fell pregnant within8mths,sadley had a mc,and been ttc since,now i know i can im not giving up,i was hoping id of been pregnant again by now,just hoping i dont have2wait another 6-7yrs!!!its the first mth that ive been charting n using opk so fingers x im timing my fertilie window and having sex at the exact right times! all the best anyway,i go in the ttc forum,as i feel like im totally ready to get pregnant asap,if u feel the same cerilou maybe u should go on2 ttc.......good luck,i will looking out 4 ur threads and keeping everything x for u ,when ur period is bk2normal again u will feel a lot better
