does spotting count as first day of period?

WOndering whether or not I should count first day of spotting as first day of period? I spotted for 3 days before a flow began. When would you say AF started??

I'm sure it varies but I always wait for a full flow before I count it as CD1. My rule is that if it's not enough to get on a pad or tampon, I won't count it as CD1. I tend to have some light spotting before most periods and I ignore it when it comes to cycle length, I just make a general note of it.

I agree, full flow is supposed to be day 1. I used to count spotting as day one, but now my cycles make a lot more sense.
