Hi ladies,

I'm back in this group after suffering a miscarriage back in august. I got my BFP on Saturday and have my first midwife appointment on 21st Dec. I'm not sure how far along I am as I've not had a period since my miscarriage, so I could be as far as 14 weeks already.

I was 12 weeks when I lost my baby earlier in the year and I'm very nervous and anxious every minute of the day. I'm trying to stay positive and take every day as it comes but I didn't expect to feel so anxious all the time. I don't think it helped that I got pregnant so quickly after the miscarriage. I hadn't planned to, I was waiting for my first period! It's not unusual for me to go months without one so it didn't click until now.

I'm desperate to have a scan to confirm my dates!! I really want to enjoy the pregnancy, let's hope the nervousness gets easier in time..

Becks, did you have a MMC with your previous loss?

For me, I found the anxiety started to ease when I could find the heartbeat with my at home doppler (around 8.5 weeks). Hearing that heartbeat every day knowing baby was still alive in there would make me feel so much better. I'm now 11+5 and even though I still get anxious from time to time, taking out the doppler and hearing the heart always calms my nerves.

Can your doctor do a blood draw or dating ultrasound to determine if you are still in early pregnancy or if you are further along?

Hi

You'll have to excuse me, I'm. It sure what MMC is?!

I spoke with the midwife today for the first time and I have my appointment next week, at that point they will book me in for a scan, I was hoping to have one before the new year considering my dates but it doesn't look likely.

I think I will look into getting a Doppler to see if I can find the heartbeat, I think that would put my mind at ease...either that or id get more obsessed with using it.

Thanks you for responding x

Sorry, I am used to abbreviations. Mmc stands for missed miscarriage. This is the kind of miscarriage where the baby passes away at an earlier week but your body doesn't recognize it for a few weeks and doesn't start the miscarriage process right away. I'm only asking because the Doppler helped assure me that I didn't have a miscarriage my body wasn't registering because I was able to find the heartbeat and know he/she was ok.

The only thing to note is you can't find a heartbeat until t least 8 weeks and many people even longer after that so since you don't know how far you are try not to stress if you don't find one.

Good luck at your appointment! I hope you get some answers soon and I hope this is your sticky rainbow baby!
