Hi ladies,

In the summer I had a mmc at 13 weeks. I had gone for my second ultrasound and that's when they told me that I had lost the baby 2 days after my first scan, so over 5 weeks before. I was a wreck. I had no signs of a mc at all, and my body continued to feel nauseous and get bigger.

This time, I found out I'm pregnant again 5 days ago, and I've been a wreck. I'm so scared of the same thing happening, and more scared of the scans.

How did you ladies get past it and try to enjoy your pregnancy?

Hi Sunshine- so, so sorry for your loss. I'm not much help, because my missed miscarriages made me so mistrustful of my pregnancy symptoms too. The only thing that helped me a bit was letting go (as much as I was able to) and saying over and over- it's up to you God, I can't control this. Later on, I would use my friend's fetal Doppler to hear the baby's heartbeat once a week. But stopped doing that when I couldn't find the heartbeat once and freaked out. The baby was still fine. Now I can feel the baby move, but still worry if too much time passes between movement. Then I go back to my mantra of "I trust you God, it's up to you to take care of my baby girl." And sometimes I just cry when the worry gets too much. I am enjoying my pregnancy more the further along it gets, so the only comfort I can give is that it should get better and the worry should lessen as you get bigger and your babe gets bigger. Hugs your way, cause I understand how you feel.

Oh- and I understand the fear of getting ultrasounds too. All my miscarriages seemed to happen after an ultrasound! But I think it was coincidence. I've had SOOO many ultrasounds with this baby, starting at 5 weeks and she has been good and strong each time. I worry about long term effects, but once again- leave it in God's hands and trust in Him. Because there's nothing I can do about it now.

It gets easier each scan and milestone. My mmc was at 9 weeks. Seeing the heartbeat, then hearing it, and then getting my big 20 week ultrasound and seeing the baby make the movements that I am now feeling - it does get easier.

Hopefully you will get slightly more frequent scans this time around. This pregnancy, I had them at 7, 8, 10, 13, 16 and 21 weeks. It helps to see for yourself.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and it took us over 3 years ttc and 2 losses to get here so when I found out I was pg for the third time I was obviously excited but scared as hell. I found, and I still do this, set myself milestones. And with every past milestone it does get easier. But the worry never really goes. But each time I get worried I say to myself that today I am pregnant and I am grateful. Just take each day as it comes. I can understand your fear of ultrasounds. Everytime I have had one I get so nervous and would just be searching the screen for the heartbeat. As soon as I saw it each time with my lil man I would relax. I have my fx for you that this will be your rainbow. Good luck xx
