So the last few days lo has been really grumpy and crying a lot between 5 and 7pm even tho he's fed, dry and warm and then after that he's fine and just goes to sleep or is happy and will sit in his vibrating chair or in your arms happily until his next bottle then he will sleep most of the night just waking to feed then going back to sleep!
While does he do this?

It's quite common at this time of day I think, the 'witching hour'! I think it's meant to be because that is a busy time of day, getting evening meals ready, people coming home from work etc

Maybe cause he is tired? My boys do that too but then we have dropped the third nap of the day and they are up from 2 to 7 and that is what makes them whiney at that time. Have you considered putting him to bed at around 6? Some mums don't want a routine at such a young age but it helped my boys immensely when I introduced a bed time. They knew what to expect I guess. Basically they went to bed in the dark room at 6 and any feeding and changing that happened after that hour was done in the dark (or as dark as I could manage) with only hushed talking from me only if absolutely needed. And I only took them out of their bed room in the morning when it was time to get up and start the day. Maybe this might be something to try with your LO too? xxx

Eugh...the dreaded witching hour!!! My LO used to be terrible 5-6 but seems to be coming out of it now

Well as he's only nearly 6 weeks old he sleeps nearly all day still and is awake for about 6/7 hours a day and this is after he's been fed so we normally think its wind but nothing comes up!

OP - my baby had the 4-6 witching hour until about 9 months. It was miserable. Is it warm enough to take him outside for some fresh air? That always did the trick to settle our lo.

LO gets cranky around 6-7pm just before bed. She's just exhausted at that time and gets whiny because of that. She's grumpy when she first wakes up too. The only thing that consoles her and cheers her up when she's like that is walking around while I carry her and showing her different things to look at.

5-6 is HELL lately- my problem is she's even more tired now she's mobile arghhh

My LO since 2 weeks has had this from 8pm till 11pm. She fusses and moans, I think its down to gas with my LO as we bought a happi tummy band and it seemed to help, that and laying her on my chest so shes more upright.
