What age did your baby start to recognize his/her name?

I know it's a process and it takes time, but when does it officially begin.

Something I always thought about.

When I would say my child's name she would smile, but that doesn't mean she knows her name. It could've been the way I said it. My tone that she likes. My expressions....

What do you think? Share your input.

Thanks,
Mello

I think my LO thinks his name is baby! He smiles at me when I say 'baby', and if he's fussing I usually say "hold on baby!" and he will start calming down! I don't call him Joseph often enough.

Bella doesn't. I've read that it's not until about 6 months that they recognize their name.

Alyssa can say her first name but doesnt understand she has 2 middle names yet lol.

She calls herself issa or pinky.

Dec started to respond to his name about 6-7 months now that he is 101/2 months he also responds to his many nicknames !!! lol

Lol, I'm like that I always call LO bubbin or bubba, must start using his name more!

Still find it weird when anyone mentions his name!

Grace thinks she is called either 'baby' or 'sexy' lol
