can anyone recomend any specific brand of milk for me to use when my baby is born.
my mum wants me to use aptimel or something but never really heard of it.
jut want some advice x

I use Nestle Good Start. Casey has been on it for 8 weeks now and I haven't had any trouble. She isn't gassy at all and doesn't have any bowel problems so it's working well for her.

We use cow and gate and have done since Joe was born 2 months ago. This was the formula they gave us in hospital which is why we carried on using it, but saying that we've had no problems with it.

I think its just a case of picking one hun and sticking with it if ure LO has no problems. Kaiden is on Aptimal 1, I picked it coz they said its the closest to breast feeding and I BF him for 4 weeks so wanted to make the transition easy.

We use Aptimal too. Imi started on SMA gold (coz it was all the shop had when we went from expressed BM to formula) but this made her very cranky. Switched to Aptimal and she's been fine on it :)

It really is a case of picking one and seeing how you go - if your LO doesn't get on with it, then a change may be required :)

we use aptamil with maddi - now onto the toddler milk, and i would highly recommend it. i too would pick one and see how your LO goes, i do think the key is not to change unless there is a problem xx

Aptimal was also recommeded by our hospital for formula users as its the closest to breastmilk :)

i started with sma gold becoz it was used at the hospital but i found he was quite windy on it. i've since switched to Aptimil...Aptimil is apparently closest to BM. might b TMI but I have noticed since switching to Aptimil that Kian poos r far more like BF babies poos. on sma gold they were more solid and smelly but on Aptimil they're really liquidy, yellow and don't really smell. I'd vote for Aptimil.

I have Alex on Aptamil for two weeks now, as I was Breastfeeding the first 5 months. He's grand on the milk, but does have LOTS of dirty nappies, approx 5 a day now...

Chloe is on Hipp Organic Infant Milk. We used Cow and Gate cartons for a while as we were given this in the hospital after I wasn't producing enought breast milk.

OH and I chose this formula months ago before she was born, we were stood in the supermarket ages comparing all the nutritional values in the different brands and it seemed as good as any. We were never recommended a certain fomula by a midwife or anyone.

Like most people say, I think it's what ever agrees best with your own LO. x

Imi was like that when she first went from EBM to aptimal but she goes alot less now :D

We use Aptamil. I BF for 2 weeks and Aptamil is the closest to breastmilk. Also I am a NICU nurse and our dietician recommends Aptamil for all our babies as its the easiest to digest.

Phoebe was on Aptimil for 8 weeks and it did not agree with her at all, it caused a few problems with her stomach and she was only going for a poo every 4 days, and when she did she exploded. I was advised to swap her milk so we went for cow & gate and we have had no problems what so ever.
