i am FED UP with people (council ppl for yellow pages jehovahs witness!) ringing my door to get into the building! :growlmad: (we live in a flat and are ground floor!) is there anything i can do about this? i have tried putting a note on the communal door but they obviously dont read it!

they always ring when toby is asleep!! :growlmad:

shouldn't there be a trade button for people who need to get in?
As for the JW-I think if you ring the local church they can stop them calling at yours?xx

At mines there is the main door where everyone comes in (we live in a big block with 14 floors). There is a 'service' button for trade, postman etc only works until 2pm though. We have a 'privacy' button on our buzzer, so if someone continues to buzz up we can just press privacy so it won't buzz again. xx

Does it use an intercom thing? I'd tell them to ring the buzzer of the person they are coming to see and dont let them in. If they aren't seeing anyone in particular tell em to bugger off! Not your job to police who comes in and out xx

i keep mine on privacy for this very reason everyone was buzzing me and it was getting on my nerves you can refuse to let people in like people delivering leaflets or yellow pages tell them the service button is on until said time and come back then

ours doesnt have a secrecy button! the old one did then they had to replace it but this one doesnt its soooo annoying! maybe i will make a bigger notice! thanku x

Do you have one with a phone on or is it just a speaker...if it's a phone...will the door buzz if you leave it hanging from the base?
Leave it off if your not expecting anyone...and considering your ground floor tell people you do know to knock on your window (is possible.)

We put a note on the communal door after LO was born, saying there was a baby in number 51 so unless you wanted US, don't buzz. We also turned the privacy on after LO was in bed. Upstairs buzzer was just as loud though and they had a takeaway delivered every night

We had that problem in the old place, the people upstairs who we had never even met apparently told their visitors to just ring ours to get in as their buzzer was broken.

I would refuse to let them in and ignore the buzzer unless I was pretty sure if was for me. I pissed me off endlessly.

Yeah we have the same problem - being number 1 sucks sometimes!
