Does anyone own a doppler? and I mean a decent one, not the one thats like $20 bucks in the store with the headphones that you can't hear the heartbeat until like 8 months along lol.

I mean a good doppler, like the ones they use in the docs office? I just bought one on ebay for $65, came with 2 gels and I got one in pink (blue and orange avail too)

I was wondering how many weeks along you were when you were able to hear baby's heartbeat? This one says around 8-9 wks you should be able to hear it, but I swear I have heard it already, just for a brief second though. I hear the womb sounds etc... Just curious how early it has worked for you. thanks

i was going to get one but decide against it in the end.
i think most people can hear the HB from about 11 weeks? there are lots of threads in the 'main' 1st tri section. good luck! :flower:

I got a Sonoline 3mHz on ebay and Ive still to hear anything..ok, its been less than a week, lol! Im dying to here it though!!! :)

I got my Sonoline B in orange this week. I have heard the baby's heartbeat a couple of times but he is a squirmy little bean! :D

I was surprised to be able to hear mine, though. I am at least 60 pounds overweight so that does affect my ability to hear it, I think. But I have heard it in fleeting moments during the day. It takes some practice...

but be careful! IT'S ADDICTIVE!!! :winkwink:

Hi..
I got my doppler yest, i am only 8w6d so i know still very early but did have a go last night but didnt hear anything. I too was wandering how soon it has worked for others...
xx

Ive got a sonoline B https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonoline-Professional-Doppler-Display-UltraSound/dp/B001EPBUUY its got a blue front

weve been able to hear the hb from 9+4 and its been very reassuring after 2 losses - we listen when we wake, when we get in from work and before we go to sleep

Yes it is very addicting lol. I try each day, but can only hear my sounds :) I am a little over 7 wks so I didn't expect to hear it yet anyway. I am going to try with a full bladder though, I heard that makes a difference.

One question though, does your sonoline have loose connections? the guy I got mine from said that was normal as they are interchangable dopplers. but seems all I have to do is move just a little and it cuts out, I have to wiggle the plug to get it to work again.

thanks ladies ;)

Ive had no luck yet..not without trying mind you, lol! I'll keep at it though and hopefully i'll have some luck - im dying to hear it!!! :)

Oh Seashells- you and I have to keep notes and compare! I'm 8w3d today! I've been bidding on dopplers for about a week. The one I'm going for is ending in a couple hours. Hope I get it!

I never bid on one, I just bought it outright lol. good luck on your bidding

I had the angelsounds. Used my own headphones (good ones) and heard the heartbeat at 9 weeks. You can buy it for $20, just be sure to use good headphones and not the cheap ones that come with it and it works just fine.

Comparing notes sounds like fun, Did you get a doppler yet? I still havnt heard my little Buds HB yet but im not worrying too much cos i know its still early....xx

I tried again yesterday (sonoline) and pants, nothing! Cant wait till i do as having had 2 mmc its easy to get paranid even at the best of times :) Have my next scan on 20th July and at this rate i wont know its ok until then

I finally found the hb last night!!! 10 weeks 6 days and i found right about where id think my left ovary would be. Not very loud but i found it 3 times and hubby heard it too :happydance: Heartbeat was over 160bpm and i am overjoyed to have heard it. Mind you, i could get a bit addicted to it now :haha:

Over your pants? I am lost lol, aren't you putting the doppler on your skin and using the gel? thats what I have to do to mine

Congrats on the HB, I tried today, but nothing yet

I got my doppler yesterday! I tried bidding on a bunch, but the used ones were going for nearly the price of a new. So I ordered a sonoline b for $56- no lie, I ordered it Thursday afternoon, they shipped it two hours later, and I got it in the mail on Saturday!!!

I tried playing "chase the baby" last night (I was 8w6d)... no luck. :( Very good at finding my own heartbeat, and when I moved the probe it would shoot to 120 but then sink back down-- I think at 9 weeks it's supposed to be much higher, so I guess that's not Baby. My own HB has always been high (around 88 bpm) so I'm pretty sure that's mine.

I also don't think I used enough gel. I'm going to the store tonight to buy some KY and going to try to find that little stinker tonight!!!

defenitely on my skin (no pants!!! :)) and with the gel. It was maybe just less than an inch up and to the left towards my hip. First i could hear myself (hb) faintly and then after a short while in came the little pixie's hb - very fast!

Im gonna go try to find it again before i go to sleep tonight :happydance:

Whoop whoop!!! Houston, we have a heartbeat!!! I tried again tonight and just bought a tube of generic KY jelly at the dollar store. After a LOT of playing hide and seek, I cornered little Iggy! 9w0d... highest reading was 191, but mostly between 168-180. WAY TO GO, IGGY!!! Now if (s)he would just stay still long enough for me to record it so I can listen to it over and over.... *sigh*
