Well as the title says, I tried using my Doppler again just now. All kinds of numbers came up, in the 70's and 80's and then numbers between 122 and 135.... would this be too high for my heart rate? It certainly didn't sound like a 'galloping horse' like people say, rather than a steady beat.

Just not sure what to think :-(

Sounds like an echo of your heartbeat which would give you a high reading.

Did it sound kinda muffled and whooshy or was it pretty clear?

Bit of both really, when it read 125 it was quite clear...

Can you take a recording and post it? Mine very very clearly sounds like a train chugging along or horses galloping. The reading on the doppler is sometimes off because it will start off lower from all the other weird sounds its picking up and then it starts moving up after a few seconds. I dont pay that much attention to what the screen says, I just know the sound.

Sounds more like you or placenta. I find that my baby hangs around the placenta a lot and if you listen closely you can hear the difference but the Doppler will have a hard time picking up an accurate reading since it's the 2 sounds it's getting

I read somewhere that there's a vein down there that happens to run alongside an artery and that can give readings higher than your normal heartbeat, you hear thud of the artery followed by thud of the vein then artery again etc so the numbers are much higher. Babys heartbeat will sounds very fast, galloping horses and chuffing trains are great ways to describe it. If you do a google search you can listen to clips of what it should sound like and compare it to what you're hearing x

Normal adult heart rate is between 70-90 BBM so probably babies . If your own heart rate is 133 if see a doctor.

I found my little beans heartbeat, FINALLY!!! It was 100% it and not mine, noise was like a chugging train :-) I'm so happy and relieved!

Almost gave up but persevered for a few more minutes and found the little rascal hiding the the left of my belly not far above pubic bone. Woopwoop!!

Congrats!!!!
Isnt it amazing?
There is no mistaking that sound!

Thanks tmonster and for the kind offer of helping, I almost took you up on the offer but thought I would try one last time. Definitely knew as soon as I heard it!
