Doppler Question

I am borrowing Sonoline B doppler from a friend. I have no gel though...not even aloe. Can I use it without or no? What is the best if I have to buy something?

Definitely get gel. I have used aloe and ultrasound gel but I do find ultrasound gel is much better.

My midwife used to use KY jelly, so I think lube would do in a pinch.

I would definitely use gel. I have one, and it doesn't really work without it.

Also, I don't know how far along you are but if you're less than 11-12 weeks, don't worry if you don't hear anything. Baby's still pretty low and sometimes can be difficult to detect before 11 weeks.

Thanks ladies! I saw baby on US Monday but haven't heard them yet. With DS it was hard to find him until 11/12 weeks so I know not to worry.

I actually just used water last time but I got a vat of aloe for this time! Will probably try this weekend

My doctor couldn't hear the heart beat at almost 12 weeks. He did a quick ultrasound and baby's heart was beating and baby was moving. I'm really praying baby's heart beat can be heard when I go to the 16 week appointment because it was very scary!
