I had a fetal echocardiogram (I am guessing this is what you are referring to) at 18 weeks to check my daughters heart. I was told it couldn't be done before then because she wasn't big enough for them to see what they needed to (all 4 chambers, valves, blood flow etc).

ChristinaRN, apparently there is a first trimester doppler scan (not just the 18-20 week echocardiogram) that can detect 25-75% of heart malfunctions in the first trimester for normal chromosome babies. I had a very high NT number, and I am looking for some way to find serious heart issues early...

I had several from 21 weeks until about 33 weeks. First to diagnose problems, then to monitor them. Its a stressful kind of thing, isn't it?
