I have been given a double buggy but....it's soooooooooooo heavy and erm without sounding ungrateful....ugly:blush:. It may be handy for the school run but not practical to take in and out of the car when we go out.

I need recommendations from people who have actually used them or know someone who have used them....not just how fab they look in the shop please IYKWIM. Practicality etc. It will be for a newborn and a 14month old

Thanks in advance:hugs:

Erm...dunno. It's at my sisters house, it was navy with some lime green on it and weighed an absolute tonne (and I'm not a weak person). It was a side by side stroller type one. Probably quite old but not used much. Had a raincover and everything so I feel ungrateful:blush:. It'll be fine as I say for the school run but for going in the car I think I'll need a lighter model. Failing that it's gonna be baby in baby sling and Toby in stroller till he gets a bit bigger and can go on a buggy board.

Is it like this but green x

:rofl:had that one last time:dohh:. Got it much cheaper in Babies R Us....dunno if it's cheaper there now. I sold it to my friend who said I can have it back if I want but it's filthy and knackered now:blush::dohh:

If you need a light one for the car i would probably suggest a umbrella fold one, like the cosatto bro sis etc style , silvercross do a nice double or have you looked at the combi style pram x

OOoops!!

This is the combi link...there very light and fold in half and half again

I wouldn't reccommend a front and back because there so heavy and once the child in the back isn't newborn they look very cramped x

I nannied for twins before who had a Mountain buggy of some sort-its 3 wheeler and super light to push. Its turning circle was really small too-didnt feel like you were trying to manoevre round a house whenever you wanted to turn!! Cant remember the name of it though. . .Ill have a think :dohh:

Iv also used a Maclaren double-and found it to be blimmin' AWFUL. the babies looked super squashed in it even at Tobys age as the seats were really narrow-and it was really heavy to push/lift up pavements. I always managed to trap my fingers in it when I folded it up too which was mildly annoying.

Good Luck finding the right one for you x x

I had a McLaren side by side and for my newborn and 15 month old. It was failry heavy but had handles on it which made it easier to use. It only became heavy to push as the boys got older and bigger. I loved it, folded umbrella style.

You can get the light weight Mamas and Papas Aria side by side which is is one of the lightest or the Cosatto Duo Lite

It is a smaller one and slightly lighter than the McLaren big ones. Hope that helps Hevs xxx

We had a jeep brand stroller, it was very compact and easy to fold and always have in the car. I can not find a link for exact one I had. But, they are really only good for when baby is a bit bigger because not much support for a newborn have a lookie.

What about this????

Looks a bargain, one of the lightest and narrowest too. Pretty cheap:happydance:. Looked on the net, lots of good as well as bad reviews....not sure what to take notice of:hissy:

The price is decent. I like darker fabrics they are very practical for stains.

Are you tall?? One thing i have noticed about the single arias is that they seem very low x

I'd go with the sling - but I'm really into the idea of slings without having tried one (getting quite a collection together)!!! There are supposed to be loads of advantages to babywearing so might be worth trying as a cheaper option before you buy a new double pushchair? (our cheapest has been a baby bjorn from a NCT sale - £3, think my favourite is going to be the Moby wrap though that are around £30, haven't got one yet though).

x

Kaci....nope, I'm only 5 foot 3 so not a problem there:rofl:.

Gonna go to mamas&papas shop today and check it out for myself. It's the straps that concern me the most to be honest as they're not fixed to the back rest bit if that makes sense?:dohh:

Elm...I'm sure a lot of the time I will be using single buggy and baby in a sling but I have some back problems so don't wanna rely on this. Also if going out for a while, going to the loo etc is a bit of a nuisance with a baby strapped to your front especially when you're still bleeding etc after birth IYKWIM????:dohh:. Toby has only just started toddling too so not steady enough for a buggy board for at least a good few months yet.....he's a bugger and will run off at every opportunity as well:rofl:

Hadn't thought of that!!! Trying to think around the logistics of it now... suppose it'd be ok sitting down... but then.... Sure it'll be fine.. :dohh:!!!

That Aria one you posted Hevs is the one I suggested in an earlier post hun lol. I tried one out and they are so easy to use and light weight to fold up etc. Just don't like how they fold up as it is not an umbrella fold it folds in half so is quite wide!

So it was:dohh::dohh::dohh:

:rofl:I'm such a pregnancy brain. I bought it anyway. It was £150 including the accessories pack which has 2 footmuffs and raincover. It was by far the lightest one about by a good 3kg:happydance:. I know it folds in half but to be honest that's better for me coz it's freestanding too so can stand in my porch and easy to fold and unfold too. I also like the brown/caramel colour...still not keen on the harnesses but hey ho....for that price I'm never gonna get everything I want am I????

I also got 3 lovely neutral sleeping bags in 2.5tog, one for new baby and 2 for Toby as in the last few weeks 3 of Tby's sleeping bag zips have broken:hissy:. Shouldn't whinge as they've been used with all 3 kids eh:dohh:

The single aria was great! My ds was a big baby/toddler andwas the only one he'd fit into with his winter coat on! The straps don't attach to the back of the seat and this concerned me at first but seemed fine, if your really concerned get a pair of reigns and fasten them to the loops at bottom of the seat!

I was in pram shop the other day and found a brilliant double buggy, It was a long one, one behind the other, but was really really light, all I know it was red, I cldn't see a name on it anywhere! I'll have a browse around seeif i recognise it, I was so impressed for a doubler!
