they gave me the option of testing for everything they could, or nothing at all. I chose to test, because my and my OH's heritage have chances of down syndrome and cystic fibrosis. I would want to know just so I could make sure to have everything I'd need to for him 
I will love my little man to death, and the only thing that they thought was wrong was possibly a cleft lip, but at my last scan she said she was wrong and it looks to be sorted out. ^-^
It's a simple test, I think there's no harm in it just in case.
