Hi all,

I've been using dr browns bottles since Abby was 4 weeks as she had terrible problems with trapped wind and they really helped!!

However now she's a bit older and can fart and burp like a trooper I was wondering whether I could use the bottles without the pipes and disc things so they were more like a normal bottle?? I did use TTCTN but I only had the small bottles that hold 5oz and she takes at least 6oz per feed

bump... I would like this answer too as i am tired of cleaning them!

No hun you cant, it will leak xx

Hi, yeah if you use them with out all the bits they will leak. I know it's a pain cleaning them etc but I kept my son on these til he was out of bottles just to be on the safe side -

I forgot to put the tube thing in once and it leaked everywhere!! x

My LO is still on them, I'm not planning on stopping until he gives up drinking out of a bottle!

What I was wondering is if anyone that used Dr.Browns bottles switched to "regular" bottles when their LO got older. Did their gas issues return or did they out grow them. Carter can burp on his own most times and I would like to stop using Dr.Brown's if possible but don't want his painful wind to return.

I used dr brown bottles and switched to tt bottles a few weeks ago when beth turned 6 months i havent had any problems and she was horrendous on them when she was younger!!

Thanks for the reply. And congrats on your new pregnancy!

And sorry op for taking over your thread:flower:

Omar refuses to drink from other bottles, so we'r sticking to Dr. Browns until he's fully weaned off them xx

I tried him on TT around 6 months and did nothing but burp, he wasn't in pain as such but just didn't look comfy to be honest. I had to revert back to winding him before putting him down at night, with Dr Browns i didn't have to!

I have a silly question with Dr. Brown bottles. Just wanted to check what way around the line on the tube is meant to be? Horizontal or vertical?

Thanks for the replies everyone- I guess I'll carry on cleaning them then- it was just a thought :-)

And previous poster- not too sure what you mean by a line? I'm not sure I've ever seen one and I've been using them for months now!!

I mean the straight bit on the tube...I'll take a photo
