Why do they leak????? Im not overtightening or shaking dont know whats wrong???

Do you loosen the lids before warming the bottles? Or if you're putting hot water in, you need to leave the lid a bit loose til they get cool. I'm not talking about over-tightening, but just having the lids normally tight/closed will make them leak if the contents are hot / warming, due to the positive pressure system.

putting them together with hot water (boiling) in makes them leak as does putting in the insert too quickly. I've not had a problem but my sister has them leaking everywhere when she feeds my LO.

hope that helps!

Yup I agree with the above, you need to leave the lids loose so that it cools down because the air pressure inside the bottle gets too much when its hot as the hot air has nowhere to excape  x

If you need to shake to mix the formula (I hate stirring it) while hot, have the lid a fraction loose, and turn the whole thing upside down whilst tightening it at the same time. You can then shake it upside down without leaks, even when it's hot.

Sounds a bit odd, but I promise it works!

I tried the upside down thing but then formula got stuck into the middle bit and teat. I have tried everything and they just leak leak leak I hate them:|

I'm sorry, I don't know what else to suggest. The upside down thing works for us, but it took a bit of practise to get the knack. If you really don't like the Dr Browns and your LO is not having any colicky symptoms, maybe you should try another type? Tommee Tippee CTN are popular - my sister lent me some to try and they don't leak. They are also a bit easier because there are less parts to make them up.

Tried the tt ones but the numbers not being coloured on the sides drive me mad (but not as much as the leaking dr browns lol) and when he was younger the milk would come out too fast but they aren't as bad now. Trying an avent one now
