Has anyone had any problems with the numbers & writing coming off the bottles???

I am on my second lot!!! The first ones I had the writing came off so Asda replaced them as faulty... but now the new ones I have are coming off & I've only had them a few weeks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wash them in soapy water (with fairy liquid) and sterelise them using milton tablets... Am I doing anything wrong?!!

I dont know whether to go back to Asda again... or if they would just tell me to go away this time!!! But I cant see the lines to know how much milk is in the bottles!! Not what I'd expect for the price that you pay for them.

Thanks
Jo xx

its happened to me i too sterilize with Milton, i bought mine from mother care and their had to replaced them twice!!! as the blue writing had totally come off!!! you would of thought the price you pay for one bottle they would make them more durable!!!

I never had this problem when I was using them, but I steam sterilise. That's awful that it's happening again though! You'd think that the company would realise that such a popular sterilising product was having this effect!

Thanks for your replies :)

I was contemplating writing to the company to inform them ... but dont know if thats a bit silly!! Surely they need to know that this is happening!!
I am going to see if Asda will replace again  if they don't then I dont know what I will do. Thing is I will only be able to take 2 bottles back at a time as I still need to keep feeding LO!! ... What a carry on!!

xx

Oh & Kerry. Are your bottles ok now??
or is there signs its coming off again?? xx

mine are fine too but i steam sterilise too. did find mothercare bottles fading though in steam steriliser

Mine have been fine but I steam sterilize... sounds like it could be the Milton.

Yes there fine Ive had them replaced just over 3 weeks now but tend to last no longer than 6 weeks! it could be the Milton as i tend to re-sterilize straight away.i used the avent bottles before these and had no problems with the writing coming off.

this happened to mine. I also use miltons. I just measure the wate in a avent bottle and pour it in

I measure the water in Tommee Tippee bottles as I make up the feeds in seperate bottles due to the Dr Browns leaking when you shake the mix!!!

I might see what the Tommee Tippee Anti Colic PLus are like instead... anyone have any experience with them? Are they exactly same as Dr Browns??

xx

Its definately the Milton!!!!! I used to use this for lots of things at work and at home and it is pretty lethal at ruining things especially taking off print on bottles!!!
Maybe just steam steralise. But yeash, DEFINATELY the Milton!

I switched to the TT Anti Colic Plus when my LO started wanting 9oz bottles. Impossible to do in the Dr Brown's without them leaking all over the place, it was a nightmare!

I've found the TT ones to be just as good as Dr Brown's, if not better  I like the one-way valve on the bottom of the "stem", as it stops milk being drawn up (thus leaking everywhere!)

I have just started with the anti colic plus yesterday. I put on the size 2 teats for the TT bottles as I was using number 2 Dr Brown.... Does anyone else think these flow much faster than the Dr Browns?
I am tempted to try out the number 1's on the TT bottles & see how he goes with that.

I also steam sterilize & didnt have a fading issue. I used Milton tabs during our vacation for 1 mnth & our bottles were fine. Did u check the concentration? U need 1/2 tablet only for 2.5 litres of water xx

It's the Milton Hun it's actually quite abrassive! I would steam steralise!

And I just realised I've already replied to ur thread lol!

LOL!! Can you steam steralise and make up bottles in advance thouugh??

I stopped steaming them as it says that once the thing is opened they're no longer sterile & its not convenient for me to have the microwave on all the time!!

Mainly cos I go out most days so I just sterelise my Dr Browns bottles on a morning in the milton fluid, then have bottles made up in TT bottles, then I just put the bottles together when they're sterelised & take a couple of empty bottles out with me, then pour in the feed once LO is ready to eat.... Could I do that with steaming them????

Hope someone an help :)

xxxxxx

Yeah I'm sure u can. Once they have been steralised with Milton or steam they are sterile. I don't see how steaming is any less effective at making them hold their sterility than Milton.
I steam all my bottles first thing in morning and take them out the machine and add the cooled boiled water to then then they sit on the side till I need them.
Once LO is due a feed I warm up the bottle of water and then add the milk.
My LO has been absolutely fine this way.
As long as u handle the bottles with clean hands they will be fine.

Thanks hun, I might try to start steaming the Dr Browns then..... Bought some more last night as LO just wasnt happy on the TT bottles, he was screamig again & refusing to feed then pumping & burping loads. The milk poured out over his as the teat never stops flowing... Nowhere near as good as the Dr Browns!!
What a stressful couple of days!!xx
