Hi everyone,

Had our 15 week appt/ultrasound yesterday, our dr. says he is 70% sure about the sex of one baby and 80-85% about the other.

How accurate are these early guesses??? Just don't want to get our hopes up until our official gender scan in 2 weeks!!

they are fairly accurate, most the time the doctor can say what it is and be correct...but I would be careful though too, my SIL was pregnant with a girl for 8 months, and every doctor/tech told her she was having a girl...at an 8 month scan they found out, nope its a boy!

Generaly a dr would have more experiance then your adverage guesser but tbh at this stage id still take it as a guess and not put too much hope in it till a bit later that way if hes right then great but if not youv not spent to much time assuming you have somthing that then turned out differant

a dr wouldnt usually guess if he wasnt fairly sure. i wouldnt be buying clothes until it was confirmed either way at another scan

We were told at 14 weeks they thought it was two boys. It was confirmed at 16 and 18 weeks.

I wouldn't consider it very accurate. They predicted a boy at 14 weeks. It's very much a girl now lol

I don't trust any predictions before 19 weeks.

I was told boy, and clearly having a baby girl!!

I was told at at 16 weeks boy, confirmed at 20 weeks, definate boy!
