So I'm going to a cousins wedding at the beginning of September and I'm struggling to find something to wear!

I'm a size 14, bit of a mummy tummy going on, hate my flabby arms and huge legs and also have big hips and quite big boobs

I was thinking of wearing a maxi dress? Maybe this one....https://www.usc.co.uk/house-of-dereon-butterfly-print-maxi-dress-651198?colcode=65119818

But I'm really unsure...I want something that will flatter me for once...

Opinions and ideas would be very helpfull :flower:

If you have big hips honey I wouldnt reccommend that dress - the frills look like they make the model larger then she is :nope:

I really like this one on that website:

Imagine that with a red clutch, red pashmina and a big red flower in your hair.

Gorgeous!

xxxx

That dress is gorgeous, i wouldnt ruin it with a cardy tho, but maybe with a nice shawl/pashmina....ebay/amazon have really cheap ones in a variety of colours.

Id team that dress with lots of silver jewellery, voluminous hair and nice make up.

As for the shoes, maybe some dressy wedges? OR sparkley flat sandals like these:

You'll look lovely hun :flower:

I'll be brutally honest here, I have a maxi dress like the blue one and it makes me look like a whale, seriously. I have huge hips, hate my arms, my bum looks twice the size it actually is in it, my boobs look awful in it, like they are just dying to get out of it! All that and I'm only a dress size 14. :nope:

The one Geebug posted is much much nicer and would be way more flattering, red accessories would look fab with it, and you could even add a red belt. If you don't like that one then I would deffo have a look for something similar.

I don't want to sound mean or anything, but maxi dresses can look really awful if you get them wrong, I know from experience.:dohh: If you are really keen on the blue one, I'd have a look round the shops for something similar so you can try one on and just get an idea of what it would look like.

May as well try it Hun - it looks gorgeous!
I'm tempted to get it myself xxx

What about a 50's style dress? They are very flattering, come below the knee/mid calf so hide most of your legs and any big hips, plus the shape helps give a waist. Fun to accessorize with petitcoats/belts etc.

Loads to choose from here:

https://www.vivienofholloway.com/en/category/1950s Halterneck Circle Dress/

They are great quality and come in really great fabrics too. They are very good at giving telephone advice and do boleros to go with them to cover your arms/shoulders.

CM - I just bought this from New Look yesterday, would go lovely with that dress!
If you want to borrow it I can always post it and you could post it back when you have finished with it?

ETA: Oooo found shoes!

xx

Just a bit worried about showing my legs off, I'd rather not if I can help it :( love the dress though and it did look nice on xx

Love that! I have a few in that style but I always wear tights with them. I wouldn't worry those kind of dresses tend to make your legs look longer anyway, even better with a pair of heels.

Ooh that will look gorgeous! I bet your legs will look lovely! Infact send some pics!
