Chloe is forever dribbling milk during her feed, and part of me wonders whether it's because the teat size is too high. She's almost 6 weeks old and is on teat size 2 (2 holes). I think when they're born they're supposed to be on size 1, but due to having been missold the bottles (they were labelled as being from birth onwards), we have been using size 2 since the beginning.
We have those plastic-backed bibs, and this morning she somehow managed to soak one through - and I mean even the back of the plastic was wet, even though her bodysuit wasn't
I'm thinking babies aren't supposed to dribble, so does it mean the teat size is too high for her age? I thought you were supposed to move up to size 2 when she turned a month old, but it seems she still can't cope with it. It's annoying, because as well as being a waste of formula, it also means she's not getting what we're giving her. She must waste at least 0.5oz per feed (she's on 5oz feeds), and I know it's not much in the long run, but in a week that's 12.5oz, and it all adds up.
We use the Avent bottles, if that helps
