Darragh got weighed today and is 15lb 5oz which has taken him from well into 75th percentile to mid 50th.
Obviously he's not exactly wasting away :haha: but is it normal for a percentile drop at this stage? (he's 15 weeks tomorrow)
I have found recently that his feeding habits have totally switched; he used to feed a lot in the day and only 2 maybe 3 times at night, while for the past fortnight he's only fed 3 or 4 times from say 7am to 9pm but is now up every 2 hours at night
Is this some sort of regression?

I'm in the same position!!

My daughter has never lost weight even when she was really new! However she has now dropped a centile.. The doctor wasn't concerned but now I'm worried. She is 8 weeks tomorrow..

Anyone? X

Most babies drop a centile at some point in their first year it's actually very unlikely that a baby will follow the same line exactly, throughout. Some babies even drop several centiles as they are not genetically meant to be as large as they were born xx

thank you. do you know anything about the change to feeding lots at night and less through the day, or is that just one of those things?

It's common but suggests maybe your baby has days and nights mixed up a bit also they can get distractable at this age so feed less in the day and make up for it at night. You could try feeding in a darkened quiet room during the day to get more feeds in xx

I wouldn't worry too much hun :flower:

My baby dropped from 75th centile at birth to 50th centile at around one month - and she's stuck to that ever since.

As summer rain has said, some babies drop centiles as they were never meant to be as large as they were born. I think this was definatley true for my LO. She was born 8lb 6oz to my 5ft 4, uk size 4/6 body. Through a lot of hard work I have only just managed to (nearly) join my severly (7 finger!) separated abdominal muscles!

DS isn't quite the same as he was born on the 90th and is still on the 90th. however, he spent over a month off the charts at the top, and then dropped back down so in the space of a week effectively dropped about 10 places. he has also changed from feeding 2 hourly during the day with only a dreamfeed at night, to every 3 - 4 hours during the day and 2 - 3 times at night.
as long as he seems healthy, is still taking good feeds and needing lots of nappy changes i wouldn't worry. nobody tells babies they're supposed to follow these charts to keep us happy :-)
