Hi ladies,

My LO has 4 bottles in the day and a dream feed at 11pm. She then sleeps to 7am. She doesn't take a lot in the day though so I'm dropping the dream feed, when she normally drains the bottle, in the hope that she will stock up on more in the day feeds. I always have to wake her for the dream feed and she's never cried for it..

Has anyone else had experience in dropping this feed?

Wish me luck - I have a feeling we'll have a lovely 2am wake up call :)

My LO is older than yours, but she goes to bed at 7.30 - 8, then I normally do a dream feed at 10.30 before I go to bed. So I thought I would try dropping it, which is why I am now wide awake at 1am while LO is back in her bed asleep after waking at 12.00 for a feed! Grrrrr! :growlmad:

Not really sure how to proceed from here. If I keep doing it, will she stop needing it? If so, how long will it take. Took her blinking long enough to sttn in the first place, so now that I'm getting a proper night's sleep I'd rather keep it that way! Tempted to keep at the dream feed for my own sake!

But then my LO never has been much of a feeder - only ever takes 4 -5 oz at a tine, so msybe it's just not enough to do all night?m:shrug:

Not much help to you, am I! :)

Thanks mumtoeva! She did wake at 11.30pm but she wasn't crying, just trying to grab her feet! So I went in, rubbed her tummy and she went back to sleep fine. She woke again at 4.30pm but, again wasn't crying. She then slept until 8am!!!! So she went 7pm to 8am without a feed and didn't cry for any!!

Mind you, she take 7/8 oz if she does take a bottle in the day. I know what you mean though, once you get them sttn you just darent drop the dream feed!!

We'll see how tonight goes!

I tried to drop it, she doesn't wake for it, but she then woke at 2am instead of 5 and wouldn't go back to sleep and ended up in bed with me. Think I'll stick with it for a while :)

I'm currently playing it Lily's way... She used to have 3 bottles during the day (all 7oz) and then a dream feed around 11pm when OH and I went to bed. One night recently I fell asleep on the couch around 9pm and stayed there the whole night, so Lily didn't get her dream feed, but she still slept til 8am. So now, I only give her a fourth feed at 11pm if she is (on extremely rare occasions when she's unsettled) awake at that time. X

Hi, I dropped my Lo dream feed at around 5 months old. I always woke her for it, mostly she would drain it (7oz) She then started not finishing it as she would fall into deep sleep so I just dropped it completely and she did not wake up for it. Like op she wasnt too bothered about milk in the day, especially the morning feed - once I had dropped the DF she was more eager for her morning bottle. Goodluck x

I reduced my sons over 2 weeks as I didnt see the point in stopping it if he woke for a night feed.

He had 6oz and I reduced it by 1oz every few days until it was 2oz then stopped it completly, that was at 21 weeks x

So after some debate I decided to drop the dream feed again last night, and LO slept from 8 to 6.30! Woo hoo! :happydance: don't want to speak to soon, but could this be the start of my LO consistently sleeping through the night?

As for me, I had the best night's sleep I've had since Eva was born! I'm like a new woman today - watch out world, here I come! :happydance:

I don't want to drop the dream feed as like seeing her at 10pm. How sad am I?!
