When did your LO's start dropping milk feeds?
At present my LO has been having a 5 oz about 7am then his solid brekkie(mixed with 4oz of milk) about 8.30am-9
Then solid lunch at 12-12.30
milk 6oz at 4ish
solid dinner at 6ish
then bed time milk of 7oz at 8ish.

The past few nights he hasnt wanted his bed time milk but has still slept though.
Is this normal? i thought the bed time milk was the last one to be dropped?
Does it matter?
He is also not drinking all of his 4pm milk, maybe only 3-4oz
Im worrying that he isnt getting enough milk each day as i read they should have 15-20oz until 1 year old and he isnt having it.

Am i worrying for nothing? maybe i should just follow his lead?
thanks,

The milk you said does add up to around 22 oz - more than enough.......even if one bottle isnt finished....

Sounds like quite a good routine you have there.

I would only be worried if LO was dropping down to around 15oz or less, then if that happened I would try add another milk feed or add milk to solids/cheese/yoghurt, or even cut back on solids:flower:

They will drop when they want.

My LO would take 2 bottles per day til about 16 months.

I would rather she kept drinking milk as now at age 2 she only has milk in cereal and thats it!! Milk is so good for them!!

I would let LO take as much milk as they want.

Dropping bottles.........if they take less and less out of a 4pm bottle I would perhaps replace it with a snack, but would try to add an oz onto the other bottles of the day so that over the day the milk intake is not really changed.:flower:

Hi firsttimer, your routine sounds almost identical to my babies routine, she is 10 months and one week now. I am letting her lead the way. I have two older children and I did the same with them. I will start introducing whole milk soon and mixing it with her formula so when she is 12 months she will be on milk probably in the morning and afternoon.

I've been wondering this too. My 9month old LO still has her last bottle but has been dropping other bottles during the day. Now she gets:

5oz bottle at 7am
Solid breakfast
6oz bottle at 10am
Solid lunch
6oz bottle at 3pm
Solid tea
Sometimes has another 3-4oz about 5:30 but not always
About 4oz before bed.

So although the timings are a bit different its still about the same amount :)

That is why im worrying as he isnt drinking his bed time milk at all and dropping a few ounces on his 4pm feed so over the day its only about 12-15 oz if he continues doing that.
He wont drink milk with his solids he only wants juice. So i cant sneak it in there ha ha
Lucky that his cereal takes 4 oz to mix that (cow and gate tropical cereal) but the wheat bisks dont take as much milk and neither does my home made porridge.. shame as my porridge is yummy!!! Pear and Raisin he loves it :)
