Evie usually feeds very well. She's 3 months old and a healthy weight of 14lbs 8oz (75th percentile) and will usually have 5 or 6 6oz bottles a day. She doesnt always drain them tho, but she'll usually have at least 5 oz per bottle.
The last week she's been a bit wierd with them. She'll eat around 4 or 4.5 oz and then just refuse the rest. Flat out refusal. Spits the teat out or plays with it, pushing it around her mouth with her tongue. So I sit her up and wind her and then try again .. nope, she doesnt want to know! Before this, she'd have 30oz a day, AT LEAST. Now she's only taking about 25oz. Yesterday was the worst at 22oz, but she had her jabs on Wednesday so we expected a loss of appetite there somewhere, but it doesnt explain the drop in ounces before that!
I'm a little worried tbh cos she's always eaten so well and has been taking at least 30oz a day since she was about 6 or 7 weeks and has never gone this long with a drop in appetite.
I've tried changing teats, but tbh, she's fine on the Avent stage 2 atm, they dont collapse and she drinks fairly fast from them.
Could she have just gone off the taste of her formula? (aptamil stage 1)
Any ideas?

:flower:

my baby did that around the same age too. for a good two weeks, it was a struggle to get him to eat 2 oz when before he would take 5 oz every 3-4 hrs. i tried changing teats/bottles but in the end he seemed to get back on track himself. i just left it to him, figuring he won't let himself starve and would eat when hungry. so i guess i tried demand feeding rather than scheduling and then going from there

Thanks for the reply hun.
Evie is demand fed anyways, if she wants it, she gets it! :) She's picked up a little over the last 48 hours, but we've had to drop the ounces in her bottles from 6 oz back down to 5 as she's definately not back up to her 6 oz bottles just yet! But she's getting there, she drained a 5 oz bottle this morning

My LO did something similar a couple of weeks ago. I just left him to it, and he went back up a few days later.

i was just gonna post the same thing, shaya is taking her first 2 bottles ok then she is playin me up on her 3pm one 6pm one is fine but the last one she has been goin nuts like she was screaming when my OH tried to give her it then i tried she look it then she pooped and she would not take any more :/ it good cos our girls are kinda the same age maybe its a phase?? the start of teething

but if you do find out whats up let me know  xxx

She seems to have upped her ounces again to around 30.. well she did today anyways! Yesterday was 28. But she's been really fussy all evening and she had trouble going to sleep tonight which isnt like her. Usually she goes down around 10pm but tonight she didnt go down till midnight! I'm wondering if it might be the start of her 3 month growth spurt  or as you say, teething?

shaya only had 24oz today :( ive looked in her mouth no sign of teeth yet but she has all the other signs, im taking her to get weighed tomorrow so i ask the HV and let you know if she thinks its any thing xxx

william has been like this for a couple of weeks and i was getting worried, i talked to hv and she said they dont go off the taste of the milk and it could just be that he was having an off week but since then he has started with teething signs so i think it is the start of that.

Theo was taking 6-7oz bottles up untill a few weeks ago, now we are lucky if he will take 4-5oz, he really messes and fusses with his bottles too, he will have 3oz then refuse anymore, I offer more after about 30-40 mins and he will drink another oz or 2....hes putting on weight nicely (weighs 15lb 7oz at 17 wks so not worried!) but hes not sleeping at night much and is still waking 3 times a night for feeds (like 2-3oz then back to sleep!) ... glad I stumbled across this post, just wish someone had some answers!

Heres an example of our night and today, put Theo down to sleep last night at 9pm, dreamfed him at 11pm (took 5oz) woke at 1am (took 3oz) woke between 5/6am (took 5oz) woke for the day at 8, offered him a feed at 10 (took 4oz then another oz half an hour later) he fell asleep at 12 and has just woke now, offered him a feed and he has took 1oz and refusing any more...he will probably have the rest in 30-40 mins when he has had a little play first....im sooo confused!!!
