background ;
ds had chronic hydronephrosis diagnosed in pregnancy and needed emergency surgery at 5days old other wise he would have died
our surgeon who is one of the leading consultant/doctor in the field of paediatric urology within the uk said it was the worst case of hydronephrosis he has come across.
well today we got the results from all the tests and he got the all clear , his kidney has now shrunk down, with dilation of 10mm instead of 57mm. the kidney walls are thickening up, functioning is sluggish but ok and working at 54/46 ratio so not to much strain on the 'good' kidney. he's also been taken off all his medication today. the tissue is a little saggy and stretched at the moment but willcontinue to heal and his functioning will improve more over time as he more up right as gravity will help. the consultant was shocked to see how well he has progressed in 6months and thought he would need more tests and medication for at least a year.
im so so so happy and proud of my little man for being such a fighter
thought i would add a picture from when he was born and poorly and one of him now. look how far my solider has come so lucky to have him
