Due date/conception date confusion?

Just went to the dr., was my very first appointment since getting pregnant! I went to get my pregnancy confirmed for insurance purposes. Anyway, the first day of my last peroid was aug. 18th. So I had calculated I'd be due may 24th.
But doctor told me I'm due may 26th, and that I should count from each 26th of each month, so the 26th of september I would be 1 month according to her....

Do doctors count differently? I thought your supposed to count from the beginning of the last period?? Im so confused now.....

Not to sure, my last period was also 18th August, and I am due 24th of May. Do you have a shorter or longer cycle, or every 28 days? mine is 28 days

well i am just as confused....i dont even know what to think...my last period was sept 2 and took a hpt sept 10th and it came out positive....HCG levels were at 42 by the 12th and only 50 by the 14th...DR. said he saw a small sac...I dont know what to think??? He said it could be an early pregnancy...has anyone heard of that before?
