dummy making his face sore.

joshua love to suckle ans he has a dummy byt its mking his face sore.

i feel guilty for giving him his dummy as it makes it worse. .

is there anything i can do?

i was gonna get some of the MAM air dummies but the dummies hes got (the normal MAM ones) are making his face sore where the edge of the dummy sits on his face.

Have you tried looking for a smaller one? Or giving him something else to suck on?

We have the Tommee ones that have no handle - they have never marked her face! I don't think the 'whole' dummy touches her face like normal ones do.

the MAM air has a gap so it only has the outer shape if u know what i men.

I use the NUK ones on max there small and the outer part is quite soft ..the only time hes got marks is when he wakes up after his looong naps

he has it of a night time but when he has fallen asleep he drops itbut he has it for most of the day.

i thought it was making him sore coz of all the dribble but its only where the outer bit rubs i think.

the NUK ones,what do they look like and do they do them in silocone?

would you be able to post a pic of the dummies you have

This are the ones I have and have no problems so far..they make them in silicone and rubber too ..max prefers the rubber ones

I added a pic of him with his nuk it really helps for the marks on his face

I have both types of the MAM dummys and I find suprisingly the one wich just has a kind of edge to it with the middle cuts out rubs and the ones which dont hae a part cut out dont. Highly bizare mind.

ive got some avent ones but in newborn and he wont take them as he likes the 4month+ ones.

the avent ones dont curve into the face like the MAM ones so maybe the vent ones wont rub x

I could be because he has it in most of the day and his little face is sweating behind it or from dribbles
It sounds like he needs some air to the sore spots, i suggest leaving it out for a while unless he really really needs it

We use the Avent ones - the ones that have extra holes in the sides. Ryan got a sore on the left side of his cheek when he was using the Tommee Tippee. They didn't work for him.
Also used a spot of Bepanthen once at night and that cleared it away. The sore hasn't returned.
Hope that might help some.
Ryan only takes one to sleep though (naps and night time), but not when he is awake during the day.

We used the MAM AIR ones that have the 2 holes either side of them.

To help to stop him getting chapped from the dribble you could put Vaseline on his cheeks and around the mouth. It'll act as a barrier and stop the soreness x

ive stopped usaing the MAM ones now,i have some avent ones but in newborn and he has that now but im gonna buy some avent ones but in 4months+.

the avent ones dont seem to touch his cheecks as much.

was gonna put some pepanthum*sp?* on his cheecks last night but didnt know if it was ok or not.

he doesnt have his dummy all day,only for his naps and all he does is eat and sleep.
