So, in just 9 days we get our early gender scan. I will be about 16 weeks and 2 or 3 days. We booked it at a private facility which does 3D/4D scans but the gender scans are done in 2D. It's extremely cheap which is the only reason we are doing it.. like.. the cost of going out to eat one night cheap.

Anyway, who has had an early gender scan and how visible was the gender? I asked my u/s tech at the hospital who is very good and she said the gender is extremely accurate at 16 weeks... and I trust her. I just want to hear some personal stories! Although I know it all depends on if the baby cooperates! Which hopefully he or she does! :haha:

I had an early gender scan done at 17 weeks and 2 days and it was obvious she was a girl! I think as long as you get a good tech they should be able to tell you with very high accuracy. I know the place I went to didn't do gender scans until 17 weeks but all the places are different. I'm sure as long as baby cooperates you should know gender when you go! :)

Well, they actually said as early as 15 weeks! But I figured 16 + would be better. I should be right at 16 weeks, 3 days. The tech from my doctor's office said they should be able to tell no problem. Worst case if they are wrong I get another scan at 20 weeks to confirm or deny, LOL!

Hi :)

I had a gender scan at 16 weeks and 2 days and the tech found out the gender in 5 mins, i had to shake my hips a little but it was clear as day, i was a bit nervous before going with being 16 weeks, i thought it might be early, but i couldnt get the smile of my face when i came out the place :)

Heres babys private part picture at 16 weeks and 2 days, clearly a girl :)

I had one done at 14 weeks and was told it was a girl. She told me she was 99 percent sure and showed me three white lines ( even though I really didn't know what I was looking at.) We had our 20 week scan yesterday and the tech told us we are having a girl. I was suprised the 14 week scan was accurate.

I had one done at 16+4 and was told boy which was confirmed yesterday at my 20wk scan, although there was no mistaking it was a boy by the potty shot on the private scan lol xx

I had one at 16+5 (see avatar), at first she thought it was a boy because something was sticking out in 4D, but then later said it is definitely a girl, so I spent the next 4 weeks doubting it until my 20 week scan also confirmed girl!

The cord was in between her legs for most of the scan which is what made it difficult but providing he/she is in a good position, it shouldn't be a problem. :)

Thanks ladies! And thank you Stephanie for sharing the picture, it is very obvious in your picture!! I just hope we are able to get as clear of a shot! The techs where I am going are really good. We went there for our 3D/4D scan with our daughter. We get a 20% discount for coming back so that is why we opted to just do it! Hopefully we can find out but they do invite you back for free if the baby won't show you so that is good at least. :D
