So, last Wednesday (14th May) i thought i had picked up a stomach virus from my 20 month old so got my husband home from work to help look after him, due to not having a lot of energy we had a take out, got home and proceeded to eat it, just as i finished i felt a trickle in my knickers, unsure if it was a urine leak so headed to the loo got halfway there and had a gush, i wasn't due to have an elective section till the 27th May so called the delivery ward as quick as possible they requested i came in, i still had no pain.
We arrived at the hospital approx 8pm and got left in the waiting room till 9pm (Not a happy bunny as i had been told how quick i needed to be there as i was to be sectioned) when we were finally seen i had all the normal obs done and then was checked to see if it was my waters that had gone, it was that evident they had as they leaked straight across the bed so it was decided that i would be sectioned sooner rather than later, i was soooooo excited but i was a little premature with that to, i was then told i wouldn't be done till the following day (so much for the emergency, get here quick scenario) i was then prepped with a canula which was failed on one hand and then finally got in, it was then 2am when they transferred me over to the ward my hubby slept down in the canteen because there was a chance i could have an emcs in the night.
Nothing happened and hubby was back at my bedside 7am we were then prepped got our gowns on etc to be told we would be the last one on the list and wouldn't be going anywhere till at least 11.30am depending if any emergencies came up before that, so we sat, me starving hungry, till 11.30am when we were called to go to theatre, they started trying to put in my spinal approx 11.45am (i had a mix a spinal but cos i was also being sterilised and it was my 3rd section they also put an epidural in rather than having to do a GA if it took to long) it took a while to get in and it was not the nicest experience, my last 2 spinals were a lot more comfortable) once done i was taken through to the theatre, it took nearly an hour to get my DS out because they had to go through all my old scars ( the consultant said it was her worst section EVER and that she was glad i was being sterilised so she didn't have to go through it again LOL) he came out screaming and was a lot smaller than we thought at 6lb 12oz (not 11oz as my husband told me ) he got an apgar score of 9 after 1 min and again at 5 mins, then it took forever for them to sew me up so i couldn't hold him for ages
I was then taken back through to the recovery room and was there about 15 mins before being taken back on the ward and this was Bastian Michael Graham Spagnolas birth story
If anyone has any questions about anything above or being an older Mum, large age ranges etc i will be more than will to help ![Very Happy :D :D](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
