early scan?

Hi, I have just got a faint positive. We mc lst month at 5 weeks so very cautious and scared. My sister had 2 mmc nd said I should ask for an early scan on nhs. We are happy to pay privately if we have to but just wondered if anyone else was allowed one after a mc? Thanks x x

hey there, i had a m/c at 5 weeks last october and im now 9 wks pregnant.
when i found out i was pregnant my dr didnt offer me to have an early scan despite my m/c.
i did however have a scan at 6 wk cs i had pain and they thought maybe ectopic, it wasn't thankfully, it was a ruptured cyst and i could see my beans heartbeat.
anyways i know you can pay to have a private scan about 8 weeks

I had a mmc last year. I could have had a reassurance scan with this pregnancy (currently 8 weeks along) but the midwife said she didn't really like them as they can lead to more upset if you see a heartbeat and then miscarry after. I decided to wait it out to the 12 week scan. However if I had said I wanted one, I would have been given one.
