My first labor/birth was a max of 5hrs. Drove an hour to the hospital after my water broke, got there and was 9cm... two hours later my first baby boy was born.
My second boy came even faster!
I went in at 6am to be induced at 39w. It took a bit to start the IV because apparently I have no veins lol.
Anyway, at 7:30 I was at 2cm, the pitocin drip was started and was increased every 20 minutes. Contractions came about 5 minutes apart at first and were tolerable for a bit. Around 10am I was 5cm, and got the epi. I hit 9cm in half an hour, and started to push at around 10:40am. I'd only ever experienced natural birth, so pushing was much easier this time around. I took the OK to push as a starting line, with the finish line being my baby! So, I pushed with every ounce of spirit I had in me. I could feel him moving down the birth canal and just before the last push I felt him right at the end. The last push was something I'll never forget. It was more exciting than it was painful.
At 10:54am baby Brodee was born crying!![Happy Dance :happydance: :happydance:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/happydance2.gif)
8lbs 0oz, 20.5 inches long ![Happy Dance :happydance: :happydance:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/happydance2.gif)
No tearing at all, so no stitches or anything was needed. His APGAR was 9/9, they constantly told me how good he looked and how they don't typically see them with such good color
Proud mama!
This was an easy and enjoyable birth. I loved it. With the chaos surrounding my first birth (sudden and unmedicated) I was glad to be able to enjoy it.
