My first was EMCS after over 30 hours of labor during which they didn't let me eat. Because I had a breathing tube, I didn't even have a liquid diet for at least a day after. It was pretty bad and I was absolutely STARVING!
I just received my surgery information today. It is scheduled for 2:30PM. I'm supposed to fast for 8 hours first (which means I will absolutely be going out for a large breakfast at 5AM ). So my question is: How soon after surgery does the hospital normally let the patient start on broths and liquids? How soon after that do they allow solid foods?
No comments on how I just had my baby's birth scheduled and all I'm thinking about is food.
