Ectopic?

Has anyone here had an ectopic? Does it start with severe pain or can it be more subtle? What symptoms did you have?
I have been spotting for about 2 weeks now and I am starting to feel a twingey pain on one side. I could just be scaring myself, but I am kind of worried.

Have you been doctors yet about the spotting hun? Now you have pain as well you should get refered for an eaerly scan. Thats the only way to rule it out either way

Thanks Little Blonde, I have been to the Dr's regarding the spotting when it started and she did some blood tests and wasn't too concerned. I have a scan booked for the 8th but as you can tell I am starting to freak out... or rather continuing to freak out as I have been for about 2 weeks!

No that you have spotting and pain i would ring your doctor and see if you can get an earlier scan. It could still all be normal but while you are waiting you will imagine all sorts of things

Thanks again. I called our EPAU and they should be able to get me in Monday. Maybe nothing is wrong but I think I could go crazy if I try and wait another week.

I know it is very scary but please try not to worry..
Ectopic can be different for different people. I had an ectopic last April at approx 6 - 7 weeks but my pains started at 5 and a half weeks.

It started by feeling like trapped wind when I laughed or I had pain when we went over a bump in the car but with it being my first pregnancy I just thought it was normal.. About 3 days later the pain was so bad that I could not stand up straight and I got shooting pains up my bottom then the bleeding started..

Like I said before its very scary but if your really in pain go to A&E during the working hours and tell them you need a scan.

I was treated very badly at the hospital and my family very nearly lost me so if the pain is unbearable demand a scan..

I had an ectopic earlier this year and the doctors monitered my beta hcg levels and did an internal scan which led to the ectopic discovery. I had no pain at all.... Fingers are crossed you!
