Just wondering if anyone can opffer advice?

My lo is breech, does anyone know if there are any complications when doing an ECV with an anterior placenta?

I know there is time for her to move yet however I am seeing the consultant Thursday and just weighing up my options before I go.

Thanks :)

I had an ECV with an anterior placenta with my DS as he was breech at 37 weeks. The ECV failed and it was excruciatingly painful, I would never have it done again. My uterus ended up bruised and I blacked out twice during it. I am not trying to scare you but they don't have a high success rate and they are very painful (not just the discomfort I was told!). In the end I had to get them to stop and they said it was impossible for him to move on his own. Well, he did move on his own at 39+4 so for me the procedure was unnecessary and not worth it at all. Atm my DD is cephalic (head down) but if she turns breech i will opt straight for c-section.

I am 32 weeks with an anterior placenta and was told that they may try this if the baby doesn't move by 36 weeks. I also hear that the success rate is only like 50/50.

Thanks for your replies :-)
Tbh I have medical reasons for an elective c section so trying to weigh up my options as to wether I go for elective section or go for vaginal birth. I think I'm pretty much decided against ECV as I've heard nothing but negative stories about them x

I hope an anterior placenta doesn't hamper ECV, my LO is currently breech (35 weeks) and I'd do almost anything to avoid a c-section, having seen how badly they knocked a relative about compared to my vaginal birth. I think they work in approx. 58% cases, though obviously some things make success more likely or less likely (e.g. 2nd or subsequent baby more likely to succeed, big baby less likely, etc).

My bubba is also breech but with my severe spd I can't get into many positions to help him turn

I'm so scared of a section but would rather that than a turn I think
