I got my results letter from my DR today RE my anomaly scan last week. She said everything looks great and we're right on for my EDC as March 13th.

I did some looking around, and discovered EDC is the same as EDD, and EDD means estimated date of delivery or estimated due date.

Based on my dating scan, my due date was March 19th. I have to have a C-section because my pelvic opening is too narrow and my dr doesn't want me to go beyond 39 weeks because I live out in farm country and 1.5 hours away from the nearest hospital capable of taking care of a ruptured uterus.

I was wondering if anyone has had a dating scan, an anomaly scan, and have their due date change? If it changed, was it because of the known c-section or was it because the original due date was off?

At 9 weeks I had my due date changed, because the date was off. My c-section is going to be a week before my due date..

During my three scans before the anomaly scan, my DR would continue to say the due date is still March 19th. We were planning on the c-section being around March 12 because that would be one week before the 19th. It makes since that she would say my delivery is scheduled for March 13th, since that is a week before. The way she worded it made it sound like my due date, 40 weeks from conception, is now March 13th.

On my notes my due date has stayed the same 18th Feb but I'm in for a sweep on the 28th Jan and if that don't work I will have my waters broken (if cervix is favourable) or c-section on the 4th Feb due to GD and being on insulin.

But during any scans, did your dr ever say your due date was Jan. 28th or Feb. 4th?

No because due date is the 18th of feb (should of been 20th by lmp) I'm just being induced/c-section earlier because of GD and baby getting to big for dates xxx

That's what I thought. That's why I'm confused, why would she, all of the sudden, say my EDC is March 13? I think I'm being too hormonal about it. HA

Confusment on their part hun, what will happen if you go into labour before 39 weeks?

If I go into labor before 39 weeks the c-section will happen then. I can't believe my dr would send me a note saying the results of my ultrasound are completely normal and we're right on for an EDC of March 13th. That's not completely normal, if you ask me!

there probs got there wires abit crossed... your due date will never change from your 12week dating scan!... whatever date you got from that scan is the date there will keep throughout your pregnancy.

With my boys my dates changed all the time, i had multiple scans for growth.. and everytime it changed a few days... but there never altered my due date it was the same due date that i was given at 12weeks :)

Like i say more than lightly meant to say that the 13th of march is section day

I called the clinic today and talked to her nurse. She said that based on my measurements and the size of the baby during the scan, the baby is measuring as if March 13th was 40 weeks from conception. That said, I was also told that my DR hardly ever changes due dates and just because baby and I are measuring a week ahead doesn't mean my c-section date will change. Nurse also said that just because baby and I are measuring a week ahead does not mean baby is developmentally a week older, i.e. lungs. I reminder her that my dr doesn't want me going through week 39 and asked if that means that my c-section will take place March 6 or if March 12 will still be the date. Nurse said that more than likely, my c-section date will still be the week of the March 12th, even if all scans from here on out and my measurements say otherwise.

I never got a scan at 12 weeks, I got one at 11 weeks, not sure if that would make a difference. Either way, my mind is set at ease because even though my "due date" has changed, it really hasn't. Nurse wasn't really too sure why Dr worded her sentence the way she did, but told me not to read too much into it.
