Evelyn? nn Evi or Evy with a short E, not E-V

I polled you before between Eden and Ivy and was happy that my Eden instinct won you guys over too but now I have been seriously considering Evelyn and running out of time. Here are some reasons we like Evelyn:
I originally wanted either a 1 or 3 syllable name
I love the V sounds but husband loves E names
I don't have to worry about the rhyming Edie Beatty conundrum (inevitable and rhyming name)

But, I have been calling her Eden and have been feeling like that is who she will be though I am also loving Evelyn Rose now. Help!!!

Still love Eden -- just gotta prohibit people from shortening it to Edie!

Hhmmm............. the more i look at it tho Evelyn Beatty sounds better together than Eden Beatty! Sorry! I'm no help! :dohh:

Still love Eden, although obviously I love Evie, but im not sure it sounds as nice with a 'short E' pronounciation  xx

I think they are both great names, why not just wait and see what she looks like. I think I prefer Evelyn, but only very slightly

what about having both names for now and when shes born see which one suits her best.
i do love the uniquness of eden but i love the traditionalness of evelyn as well.
if your worried about eden being NN'ed to Edie then just put it across to everyone her name is eden so thats what she is to be called. people will soon get used to it. xx

Thanks guys. I do love Eden but with name + surname said aloud together I prefer Evelyn. argh. I refer to her mostly as Eden but sometimes Evelyn or Evi too so maybe will just have to wait until I meet her ;)
