Hi ladies. I am seriously considering going to Prague early next year for egg donation ivf and wondered if any of you have gone there or know of others who have? It's a bit scary thinking of going outside the UK for treatment but I've spoken to the clinic and they seem very organised and efficient. Price is good too wth guarantees of good quality embryos ! X

hey minno!
sorry i didn't reply think i already getting baby brain lol.
right, you know the clinic i used iscare, i found the very good, not very much English but enough to get the job done, the doctors speak the best. i found the clinic to be very busy, which i guess is a good sign! its very clean and the hospital part for the transfer upstairs very organised and structured.
i only waited 1 week for my donor! to be found, i was amazed.
the treatment which included icsi was 4500 euro, so bout 3800 pound.
Prague itself is nice place, i found it to be expensive on lot of things, especially in centre,
hotels reasonable, the closer you get to centre price goes up.
i went out twice, first for consultation, only bout hour, i got my drugs then too, and paid half, we was there for 5 days made holiday lol out it, but 1 or 2 days would be ok, i went back out few months later for 10 days, was a long time, luckily we booked enough days as timing with donor changed, we ended up having transfer the day we flew back!
any more questions ask, it worked touch wood for US so far.
Im gratefully thankful to the lady that provided these eggs. she gave me a chance to be a mother x x x

it is a bit scary at first, but after the consultation its fine,
they are experts with good results, that's all you need! :-):-)

Thanks mumdream. Have been in touch with Intertrust to discuss Iscare and also looking at Praga Medica, GEST clinic, they seem to have good success rates around 60%. They are a little more expensive but offer some guarantees of at least 2 embryos to transfer, or one to transfer and one to put back. May get more eggs with a bit of good luck. Have you heard of them? Was it dr hulvert you were with?

hi ya
not heard of the others . .but once i found this one i kinda just stuck with it. .
yes that was the doctor! he is very nice. . and took a lot of time explaining things to US.
i would defo have a good look round. . we got 13 eggs. . 2 blast tx and 2 blast frozen with 2 others, we did well on our cycle, they said there were good quality eggs. that's what we needed!

I know what you mean - you kind of learn a lot about a clinic and then feel comfortable with it. We feel like that with Praga Medica but haven't completely decided yet. Iscare looks good also but doesn't offer any guarantees. We've done ED once already and this is really our last shot so to have guarantees of embryos is really important to us.
So happy for you on your bfp! Are things settling down?
X
