Hey girls,

Just wondered if anyone had gone through the egg sharing process?

We'll be doing it in a couple of months & just wanted to know everything about it!

I know I have a high AMH & have been told I'm likely to get a lot of eggs, so I'm happy to share my extra ones! Hopefully I'll get enough!

Anyway, any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Hi there,

I have just booked in for my tests to find out if im suitable, the main things they are looking for is under 35, generally healthy and no genetic defects

have you decided who you are going with yet?

x

Hi Ladygecko, thanks for replying!

Well we've been with the gcrm in Glasgow for our IUI, & we're doing the IVF egg sharing there too. I'm going on Monday for the genetic bloods, so I guess we'll see what happens after that. The main thing I was wondering was if I don't get that many eggs & have to give half of them away, will that affect my chances? Think I'll write down a list of questions to ask on Monday!

Thats who I'm booked in with dont get my tests until the 2nd week in dec, it was my understanding that if there were not alot of eggs that you could donate the first lot and have the second round for yourself if you did not produce enough, but best to ask, let me know ow it goes, keeping my fingers crossed for you

xx

Oh, GCRM too!!! Brilliant! It's got the best IVF results in Scotland I've read!

I will keep you posted, will ask all my questions on Monday & let you know!

Ive done egg share 3 times but privately.are you havin just ivf or icsi aswell?if just ivf it seems too pricey.at my clinic youd only pay for hfea fee if doing ivf.with a fee on top for icsi which is still less than what youre paying.

We're private too, think it'll just be the IVF we'll need, they didn't seem to think ICSI would be necessary. We're saving about £2500 by doing the egg share, quite a big difference!!! How did you find the whole process?

thanks for this thread, I was wondering about doing egg sharing. Do you find it weird at all, knowing that your eggs are out and about in the world? I'm worried about it. However, i'm not going to let it put me off though as you are offering another woman a great gift and getting nearly half the money off of IVF. Considering the success rates, and many women needing more than one cycle, money off is a huge bonus.

I did eggshare with Care :) i wouldnt ever give it a 2nd thought of helping another family achive the same dream you having been trying to achieve

They are eggs when you give them to the other lady not embroys, and i have never let it put me off knowing a child may be born from my eggs given.. Its a very special gift what people do when eggsharing a very specail gift x
