I am booked in for my section 1st sept and have a few questions about visitors after. I'm due in at 8am on the day and looked to be second on the list when the consultant booked me in.
I have questions about visitors and when they are allowed to see us? My oh will be with me during the op and I am keen for my 6yr old ds to visit when he can.
Do you know how long after this usually is? On average how long is someone in recovery for given all has gone well?

Thanks x

I think i was in recovery for around 20-30mins after my elective.

I had the section at 9am and was on the postnatal ward by 10am. DS1 visited at midday as that's when visiting hours started and my mum and MIL were bringing him.

I think it probably depends on the hospital but we had our little girl around 1pm and we had visitors (only grandparents) in the evening. My husband had to go home at the end of visiting! I am booked into a different hospital this time which allows partners to stay overnight. I plan to have my little girl stay at her grandparents and my husband will go and get her the day after the baby is born so she come and meet her.

I was in the recovery room for only about 20 mins after then i went back down to the main ward. I had him at 11.04 and saw visitors at the 5pm visiting hours x

I was in recovery for quite some time as I wasn't coping with the pain. My son and sil/bil who were looking after him all were allowed into recovery to see us. They stayed about an hour. We weren't moved back up to our room until that evening, Amelia was born at 2.21, so for us it was a few hours in recovery but we had visitors there.

It will just be the hospitals visiting hours that u an have people in, bar your birthing partner who can usually stay as long as on the first day? I plan on no visitors on day1 at all!

I was in recovery for just over an hour with DS1- once I was moved up to the maternity unit it was up to us when we wanted to start allowing visitors

It probably depends on your hospital.

When I had DS our almost 3yo DD came into recovery - I'd probably been out of theatre about 10 mins. Hubby went and met her with inlaws outside and brought just her in. Then I had other visitors at normal ward visiting times later that day.

Not sure, if your well and not in recovery long at next visiting time.
I was in recovery for 11 hours after mine as was so ill after and didn't see my kids till the next day. they were gutted.

I got to my hospital 7.30 was second in had him at 11.58 am was in recovery a while as bp went up but could still have visitors although the meds they gave me the morphine made me vomit lots x
