Has anyone been told they have elevated protein levels in their urine? I did a 24 hour kidney function test at 18.5 weeks and had a protein level of 351 (don't remember the units). Normal is anything under 150. I have gestational diabetes but not diabetes outside of pregnancy. My blood pressure is good but has periodically been high before pregnancy. My dr said it's too soon for pre-eclampsia so he is going to run some tests to determine what's going on. Anyone else have this?

I had very slightly raised protein levels, but the hospital said it was probably just their equipment being over sensitive, or a smal amount of discharge might have got into the sample.

Protein can be a sign of infection, so it might mean a course of antibiotics. Good luck with your results and let us know how you get on xx

Well the specialist said it's because I have a history of blood in my urine from my bladder being so irritated from chronic URIs. The proteins are from the blood and it's nothing to worry too much about. I take an antibiotic everyday already to prevent anymore UTIs. At least it's nothing serious!

I had protein in the urine at 21-22weeks and was given a 4 week course of anti-biotics. Hope this helps!
