Hi ladies! What do you think about Michelle as a middle name for first name Ella? I realize that they rhyme a bit, but I am not sure that is necessarily a bad thing. My husband is not sold on it, but we both LOVE the name Ella and my mother's name is Michelle.

What do you think, honestly?

Honestly I think it sounds fine. If it's after a family member I really don't think the 'flow' matters as much. I know my boys name I've got picked out doesn't flow but I don't care because it's my Dad's name and that's important to me. The first and second names rarely get used together anyway!

I think they go together well but as pp said if you've chosen a middle name for a reason then I think that's more important

I don't think I'd necessarily choose that combination, but if it is meaningful to you, that's the important part. It certainly doesn't sound bad, jsut a little rhyme-y.

I think it sounds quite nice, actually. :) It's not too rhymey for me because they don't have the same ending. If it were Ella Michella then I would say it sounds off, but I think Ella Michelle is perfectly fine.

Thanks so much everyone! I feel much better...now just to convince the husband!

I think it sounds pretty cute together - at 1st it didn't really strike me as being rhyme-y until you pointed that out.

You could always name her Michelle as a 1st name but call her "Ella" as a nickname, since Ella can certainly be derived from Michelle.
