Elliot Aaron Richard was born August 22nd @ 2:35 in the afternoon
My water broke around midnight as soon as I rolled over in bed. We went straight in, even though I had no contractions, as I was positive for Strep B. Was 3 cm and admitted. Tried to sleep there, walked some laps as I had minor contractions but they mostly wanted me to rest up. Around 10 am I was induced and had a sadistic nurse who kept turning up my meds and not checking at all to see how dilated I was. I knew that no one else on the planet could survive that much pain and not be fully dilated and not be on drugs
so she FINALLY checked, and I was 9 cm. She left the room AGAIN, and I went poop, and then I yelled at Brian GET THE NURSE, and he yelled at my sister GET THE NURSE
I couldn't stop myself from pushing and I felt like I was going to fly across the room, like a train was ramming its way out of my vagina. The nurse came in and told me I could not push until my doctor got there, and she was driving over from the clinic. Not pushing is impossible, but I somehow held out until the doctor showed up.
After about 20 mins total of pushing, he was here! Thank god the doctor was there, because his cord was wrapped around his neck and he was tangled all up in it.
Natural labour was HORRIBLE and I hated every minute of it, but the next day I was kinda over it and now in my mind I liked it
Very different from my labour and delivery with Helena where I had an epidural, forceps, the vacuum, episiotomy and tear!
Anyways, he was 8 pounds 5 ounces, 20.5 inches long, and has so much black hair. ADORABLE!
